week 17 - Mike Doss

Doss' participation dropped somewhat in the playoffs. I think he's nicked up. Doss had a fantastic rookie season. He led the Colts in tackles on several weeks and finished with over 100 defensive tackles for the year. Look for Doss to be mentioned among the elite safties before long.

week 16 - Lecharles Bentley

Lecharles Bentley was elected to the probowl in only his 2nd year in the NFL.

New Orleans RB Duece McAllister ran for 100 yards something like 7 games in a row.

It's very difficult to follow the performance of linemen on games you don't watch. The stats tell nothing. The participation reports don't even indicate level of contribution. I really wish some sort of stats were available-- negative tackles againts, grade outs, something.

Lecharles had an incredible year and you had to be there to appreciate how great he really is.

Week 15 - Orlando Pace

Orlando Pace gets his 5th Pro Bowl selection in 8 years.  Pace is one of the most dominating players at his position ever-- for the NFL and NCAA.  If better stats for linemen were available it would be even more obvious that Pace is the mack.

Two clock minutes later early in the 4th quarter Vrable sacks Fiedler and causes another fumble for a 10 yard loss. Big players...

Week 12 - Eddie George

George goes over 100 and another TD. The Titans are 9-2 and they lead the NFL in time of possession thanks to Eddie. Fisher has moved from maxing out Eddie to maximizing Eddie and he just may get another super bowl out of it.

Just a few weeks back from a broken shoulder blade, 1996 Big Ten defensive player of the year Shawn Springs was key in Seattle's 35-14 win over the Lions. Springs had a 4th quarter interception ending hopes for Detroit.
