17-3

Lions 17   Packers  3

First off i would like to thank Ahmad Carrol for allowing the Lions to score there first 10 points.  He apparently was in love with our wide recievers he just wanted to rub there faces all day.....too bad for him thats a penalty in the NFL.

Well, it wasn't pretty but 2 great drives were the bread around some very buttery conservative football.  I was impressed with  Joey Harrington he handled the game, took what he was given and didn't force anything.  I also liked the long passes, even though the only successful one was Charles Rogers 31 yard grab in the fourth, it still showed the Lions are looking to push the ball down the feild.

Unfortunately the lack of scoring in the first half put the Offensive Coordinator in conservative mode. But after being booed by the fans early in the fourth after 2 straight 3rd down running plays that failed, in  the final drive they opened it up a bit more.

Kevin Jones had a very good day with 85 quality yards, but the biggest impact player of the week goes to Marcus Pollard who had 5 great catches in the game including one for the lions first TD.

Statement??  I wonder if the Lions Defense was making a statement today.  That was one of the best defensive games the Lions have played in quite a long time. They  picked Brett Favre off 3 times, recovered 2 fumbles and sacked favre 3 times. With 2 huge sacks in the waning moments of the Fourth to kill any chance of a Packer Comeback.

So in any event, good game, much improvement still needed, but Definitely a shining day for the Lions as they are the only team to win in the NFC North.  Lets just stay here for the rest of the season.

Great game for the Lions and just maybe they can build on it. Kudo's to Harrington for winning the game. I believe in giving credit where credit is due and Harrington did what he needed to for us to win.
