I had wanted to review the new Chocolate Cherry Diet Dr. Pepper because it sounds so terrible and wonderful, but I guess it's not available here in Hooterville yet. So I picked up a pack of this new gum that is advertised as having "outrageously long-lasting flavor". It's a claim that has been made before by other gums and they're no longer around -- so I was skeptical.
The claims are true! I don't know what kind of chemical they use to flavor this gum, but I assume it's not natural. I tried the "spearmint" and it was still pretty strong after 45 minutes of fairly aggressive chewing. It might last even longer, but I was sick of chewing and spit it out. I only really chew gum to get rid of the occassional bout of "dawg breath" and so the act of gnawing on a little rubbery wad is not something I want to do indefinitely.
So the flavor really does last as long as advertised, but it's not like it's a really great flavor. It's just generic minty-ness. If you're a chronic chewer, this is the gum for you. Enjoy.

I, the great latte lover, prefer Altoids for the breath thing. Generic minty-ness reminds me of my dental floss, no thanks. ~Mary oxo
