Hearing Go Through the Gates
A cool devotional
Abba started reading this really awesome, thought provoking devotional, called the Messianic Daily Devotional: He has had it for a while, but since it has been the Holy Days of Pesach, Counting the Omer, and Shavuot, he has not read from this devotional. Well, last night, he opened it for the first time, and let out a gasp as he read the day's devotional. He made sure to read it to me, and I really enjoyed it. Now for Abba and me to apply it! That is the trick, but Abba and I have been growing stronger, so we have purposed in our hearts to Hear and Do what the Scriptures say...
I will summarize the text, but Abba said he would put the complete text in Imma's journal:
Remembering the Word of G-d:
"...and blessed is she who believed, for there will be a completion to the things spoken fo her from AD-NAI." Luke 1:45
How often we forget the Words of Ad-nai and miss the blessing! Thankfully, He continues in His faithfulness toward us even when our memories fail. Distracted by the troubles and challenges of life, we forget His Word, leaving us with no basis for trust. This is right where the enemy wants us--distracted to the point of forgetting. If only we could remember...
The breakdown is in our daily devotions--our time spent listening to the things spoken to us by AD-NAI. Having a deteriorating devotional life is like starving to death...Weak, sluggish, and unproductive, you do not even realize that the source of yoiur lethargy is a lack of fuel. You need to be fed, but you have forgotten ... forgotten what it's like to eat. Many of us as disciples of Messiah are in the same condition in our spiritual lives--our walk with AD-NAI has become a dirge (a funeral walk) , and we cannot seem to put our finger on why we feel so detached from and abandoned by G-d.
But be encouraged! AD-NAI is forever faithful. His blessings await us when we renew our trust in Him. Revive your passion, find your First Love, and He will show you the completion of all He has spoken.
I hope this whets your appetite to seek Ad-nai with more furvor.
Blessings,
Avraham, the Rabbinical Bear

Feeling Ecstatic
Hearing Go Through the Gates by Barry and Batya Segal
Imma got us a care package!!!!

Imma sent us a package!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Abba came back to the room the other day very happy because he received a care package from Imma. Now that is not an uncommon occurrance, but it has been a while since we received anything from home. Home, that wonderful place where there is all of the family waiting expectantly for us to return. I know it is going to be one big party when Abba gets back to Imma, and he has already told us that we furry babies are not to bother them for several days after we finally get home.
Anyway, back to the care package; Abba had been going through Kipper withdrawal because he ran out several weeks ago. Of course his company mates, especially his Commander have expressed relief that he has not had his kippers. I wonder why? Anyway, he came into the room with two care packages and placed them on the floor. Yehuda and I asked if we could go through them to see what Imma sent. I am sure she sent some delicious food for us. Abba said sure and cut open the box tops. He then let us go through them. Let's see: There are kippers, Abba's favorite, and coffee (Starbuck's Coffee) ohhhhhhh. Let's see, there is a package of grape juice so Abba and we can celebrate Shabbat, and COOKIES!!!! And of course Imma sent a card telling Abba how much she misses him, and that she is waiting paitiently for him to return. It's personal, so that is all I am going to say.... Anyway, I am going to go for now, but know that Abba Father loves you all, and as Imma and Abba say, He is waiting to Bless your socks off!!!!!!
Shalom,
Avraham, the Rabbinical Bear

Imma,
Abba and I just wanted to let you know that we appreciate you and my other furry brothers and sisters. We are so glad that you are gracious and loving, even when Abba acts...well...
Avraham! Oops! Well, you know what I mean. Just know that Abba loves you very much.

Our New Digs
Avraham here, with my older brother, Yehuda.
We are sitting on Abba's cot, approving of the new blue rug he brought for his room. Brightens the place up a bit, don't you think?
Well, it is now very hot here in Baghdad. Abba is in the field almost every day now, so I am glad to have Yehuda for company.
I told Abba he needs to write more; he promises he will.
Well, I'm outta here
Shalom,
Avraham
