Looks like it's the end of the road for Tim Nardiello, the embattled U.S. skeleton teach coach. The U.S. Bobsled & Skeleton Federation has fired
Nardiello for ignoring orders to stay away from the U.S. team. Although an
independent arbitrator had cleared Nardiello of sexual harassment charges
brought against him by female athletes, the U.S. Olympic Committee
refused to issue him a credential to coach the team in the Olympics and a replacement coach has been named.
Complicating matters, the skeleton athletes who will represent the USA in Torino support Nardiello but have no say in the matter.
What a sad, sordid tale!
More bad news for the skeleton team: The World Anti-Doping Agency has decided to contest the eligibility of American Zach Lund to compete at the Olympics due to his positive test earlier in the season for finasteride, an anti-baldness remedy. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency had cleared Lund to slide at the Olympics.
