AOL is running a poll on Zach Lund, the U.S. skeleton slider we wrote about yesterday who has been suspended
for a doping violation. The court said they don't consider him to have
cheated -- and by a margin of 79% to 21%, AOL readers believe Lund did
nothing wrong and should not have been suspended. Get your vote in here.
In related news, some bizarre things are afoot in the Olympic villages. Athletes are getting ambushed by doping officials who are disguising themselves as journalists or fans. They approach an athlete to ask for an interview or autograph, only to whip out their doping credential and force the athletes to pee in a cup on the spot.
It's a bizarre and seemingly unnecessary tactic - athletes are always subject to surprise, announced doping controls - that's nothing new. One very high-profile athlete who has been a target - Austrian Alpine star Hermann Maier - isn't amused.
