With just a couple men left to skate their long program as of this
writing, the U.S. men have finished out of the medal hunt. *groan*
Johnny Weir entered tonight's free skate in 2nd place and in great position to bring home a medal after a strong performance in his short program on Tuesday. Unfortunately, it appears that he suffered a meltdown tonight because he's in 5th place with two skaters yet to go. Evan Lysacek is currently 4th and Matt Savoie is 6th, so there will be no Olympic medals for our men this year.
As usual, Johnny had a colorful comment about it all:
"I missed the bus. They changed the schedule. It was every 10 minutes. Today it was every half-hour. I was late getting here and never caught up. I never felt comfortable in this building. I didn't feel my inner peace, I didn't feel my aura. Inside I was black."
Will be interesting to find out what went wrong on NBC tonight. A lot went RIGHT, on the other hand, for Lysacek, who came into tonight's free skate in 10th place. He clearly had a brilliant skate tonight to make up that much ground.
Massive kudos to him since he reported came down with a severe stomach bug and felt so lousy that he nearly dropped out of the competition.

Weir is a good skater, however, his smart alec, arogant attitude will keep him from wiining the Gold ever. He has an image to portray representing the U.S.A. and needs not to imbarace our country.
Johnny, Change your attitude and you will be a BIG winner.

where are we getting these flakes from>? We need new skating material with some dedication! We also need a new bunch of announcers!!! They are pompous jerks!
