Silver for Sasha
I'm guessing this one too will be chalked up by our media as another disappointment, but I'm excited for Sasha Cohen, who won silver tonight in women's figure skating. For sure it would have been a huge thrill if she could have hung on to the lead she took after the short program earlier in the week but a silver medal is an amazing result and she should feel proud!
Nothing against Irina Slutskaya at all, but if Cohen couldn't get the gold, I was kind of glad to see it go to Japan's Shizuka Arakawa. I saw some Russian people out in a square earlier today playing with a broom, indicating their country was going to sweep the figure skating golds tonight. Didn't happen! It's hard to believe, considering their dominance of figure skating's other disciplines, but Russia has never won Olympic gold in the women's event.

Sadly, come Vancouver, we'll all remember Arakawa as the Olympic Champion. Few will remember the silver or bronze medalists in any sport. To the Champion go ALL the spoils.

Sasha,
America is so proud of you. Your poise and competive spirt is what the Olimpics are all about. Be proud of yourself as all of America is. You did not settle for the Silver you earned it. hold your head high and enjoy it. -
I think she should be happy about that gift she got. I like her but lets face it the girl from Bel Air, Maryland or Emily Hughs deserved a silver then also. They only fell once.

Sasha is a stuck on herself cry baby. Thank God for 2010 and Kimmie!

"She Was Undeserving of a Medal" wrote the LA TIMES in bold letters and Sasha even admitted it. And millions of Americans and experts around the world would agree. As noted by many experts, her performance was mediocre and noteworthy at best.
I am ashamed to be witnessing this callabour of falcity and witnessing it as a brainwashing campaign set by the media for endorsements for their ice queen.
It is a travesty, go America continue with your national campaign of lies. I am so proud.
