Bucs Fan from Ages Past
Travlin has mentioned in his blog that he's become a Bucs fan since moving down here. Well, that's the God's honest truth. He has. And he takes grave exception to my terms of endearment, re: the Bucs.
You know, terms such as "The Butts," etc.
But seriously, let's look at this. He's been a Bucs fan for what... about as long as we've been married? I've been a Bucs fan since the franchise was formed in 1976.
And let me tell you, it was a bleak period of time until our first victory in December of 1977. Not to say that that improved anything much. Culverhouse years, anyone? Yeah, you know, that guy. The man who was fine with running the Bucs... into the ground... as long as they provided him with a tax writeoff.
I remember Vinnie Testaverde from my late teens (late '80's), and when I heard in the 2000's that he was some huge quarterback, I was like, "Whoa! We thought he had potential back then, but then Hugh let him go."
Figures.
Then I married Himself. He looked at the Bucs (thank the Gods that the uniform change had occurred!), and decided, "Hey, I like this team!"
And so my hell, erm, marriage, started :)
It's been bliss evern since. Well, except when my eardrums bleed after his expostulations at referees during games, that is.
