 DailyMail is reporting that 17 year old Thomas Sangster is about to sign up to play comic book hero Tintin in a trilogy of films to be directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. Sangster, who lives in South London, has already been to Los Angeles to work on pre-production test sequences with both directors.

The new "Tintin" film is shrouded in secrecy, but an executive who worked with Sangster in Los Angeles recently revealed that "Thomas seems to be the one. He was just great, but I'm not certain if anything has been finalized yet."

Filming on the first story involving Tintin begins in the fall, with Spielberg directing. Peter Jackson will make the second movie. The third film could be directed by Spielberg, Jackson, or its possible that the two will direct it together. There have also been rumors that James Cameron might take over the third installment.
