I like to use the term, "Blessed," or being in the right place at the right time. What sayest thou ?
I agree completely brother. I know too that many people things like using the word luck or lucky just because they do not think about it. But we all must learn to honor God with our mouths. The Lord caught me in something once years ago that got me thinking about our words. I was in the habit of saying "God bless you." to people. I can say that to you as you are a believing Christian, but in saying God bless you to sinners you are conecting God's blessings to their sinful activity. Read 2 John 9-11. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your huse, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
God speed means theos chairo- be cheery, happy, well off, be well, farewell, etc. The Holy Spirit really convicted me of this. God speed is another form of God bless. Lets say you say God bless you to someone that waits on you at the store. If they are a satanist for example, you would be bidding them blessings. Sometimes we allow things to become habits...bad habits. That is like the other thing I cannot stand to hear. Something happens and right away they shout..."Oh, my God!" So many abuses of God's good name!
