Nassau
Last week I wenet to Nassau with my friend Shavon for 3 days. I wore her out walking, because if anyone knows me, I love to go see everything I possibly can in the shortest amount of time possible and I like to do it walking (Lindsay can probably atest to this because we walked ALL of Manhattan last winter). We went to Atlantis, dolphin Encounters and Downtown Nassau. Enjoy!

My Broken Finger and trip to the hospital
So I know I am a little late reporting the story, but better late than never. So in the begining of July I was taking one of the parrots out of his cage and as I was giving a peanut for being a good boy, he decided not to go for the yummy peanut, but instead my even yummier thumb. It was a nice slow gradually increasing the pressure bite. I just sat there and took it, crying as blood started gushing down my hand. As soon as he let go, Amber, who had been witnessing this started freaking out (she is not good in emergency situations) as I calmly just told her to get Harley off my arm, I didn't care how or where you put him be it on his perch or thrown over the railing into the canal (just kidding I didn't really say that). So Veronica took me to the hospital to get it checked out. Let me start out by saying I could not go to a private doctor which would have been my first choice becaseu it was an on the job injury and the insurance that we have for that will only let me go to the Rand. So we get there and it is actually not that busy and i have to wait maybe less than an hour. So I finally get called in and go into the ER rooms. there are four tiny rooms. It is not the cleanest looking place in the world. each room has a wooden bench with a little bit of padding and some paper, a sink on the wall and a couple of shelves of bandaids. So the nurse (well I'm not sure if she is a real nurse but she took my blood pressure and temperature) sits me down to do all that stuff. She puts the blood pressure thingy on me then walks out of the room and is talking to people in the hallway. Comes back in leaves again and as she is halfway down the hall says follow me. So I sit in the room and the doctor comes in. He looks at me and says "I know you". I look at him and ask "do you live in Tudor Gardens?" He says "yes" then I say I lived next door to you. As if I am not feeling apprehensive enough about this fine hospital facitlity, I now find out that my doctor lives in the same $800 a month cockroach infested building I live in. YAY! So he cleans my cut, wraps it and I get sent to radiology for my X-Ray. Now before you get anything done here you have to fill out a form and pay for it. So I have to go fill out my forms and pay before I can get my X-Ray. Then I go into the room and they set me up for an x-ray, go totake it and I say, " Um excuse me shouldn't I have one of those lead aprons?" She says oh yeah and puts it on me. So I go back and yes I have a hairline fracture on my thumb. Have to fill out more paperwork and pay to go get my finger splinted. They give me a paper to give to outpatient for a follow up appointment and as I walk to outpatient I say there is no way in hell I am coming back here as there are at least 50 people waiting there. Oh and walking down the hallway there are trashcans along catching water that has been leaking through the roof from the rain. Yup nice quality hospital here. I have put 2 pictures above of Harlely.

Trapeze
There is a new Trapeze set up at work. The people who run it don't have insurance for tourists to do it but UNEXSO employees get to do it for free. So I went and tried it today. Here are my pics from it.

My new crib
I have finally found the Pirates of the Caribbean...I am living with them. They have a canon that they shoot coconuts into the canal with, an old sail boat, parrots and they go treasure hunting (going to find stuff at the dump). They also have 20 chihuauas running around. We all thought auntie was crazy with all her animals, well these people are worse, believe it or not. There are 4 Macaws, 20 love birds, 12 parakeets, 6 cockatiels, an iguana, a turtle, 6 cats, 1 potcake and 20 chihuauas. But sorry auntie you are still going to be teased, because they don't' dress up their dogs. It is a nice house though right on the canal with a pool and many bars.

Random pics
Some of these pics are of my puppy I have to give away :(. There is a pic of the Queen Mary when it was here. Some of the beach pics are from Bahamian Labor day at Taino beac. Note that noone is really on the beach, they are either in the water or sitting on the wall, much differnet than a SoCal holiday weekend beach would look.
