Happy Mothers day to you all!!...I am still catching up on things around here and trying not be online too much..between this journal and my latest online addiction  <vbeg> I am on the puter way too much!  I had a lovely day..the kids got me new flip flops .. a new top..and a new float for the pool..hubby got me a nice bottle of wine and a shiny stainless steel blender that I asked for so I can start making my own smoothies.... not to mention the frosty beverages out by the pool..;-) we had a late lunch at the mellow mushroom and are now chilling at home..I did get a good nights sleep and feel back to normal today...I hope you are all having as lovely a day as I am.....be back later in the week to tell you all about my trip and post pics..I am working 3 shifts at the clinic this week so don't know when I'll get to it :-(

Good Morning Campers...

The eagle has landed!!!..I am back home safe and sound after a whirlwind of partying..sightseeing..visiting with family etc etc...I had a great time..my dad was 100% surprised by my visit..his party was a huge success and I had the time of my life...the jet lag has kicked my arse though this time ..maybe two international flights and trips through the time zones in 8 days..or maybe it's old age but whatever it is my internal clock is messed up..I am tired but cannot sleep..I feel fuzzy...tonite I am going to take one of Lester's sleeping pills that the navy gives him to help with his jet lag so I can get rested up before work Monday... I have over 650 alerts so I will just delete and start over...I will be back with a proper entry soon and of course pics!!

I hope everyone is doing well...I missed you all!! I will get by your journals slowly but surely I promise!!

Todays' the day...flying to England! Leaving here to Philly.. and then onto London...I arrive tomorrow morning 9.15 am...

Ellen I trust you will make sure this journal is left in the condition you found it in after you crash and party here while I'm gone....no bodily fluids in the pool please... ;-)

Good morning campers!

I don't know where to start...my life seems to be insane at the moment....I guess I will just back track and try to remember the last week....

As you know we had the pre deployment meeting which was a huge success..the turn out was over 300 people...hubby was very pleased..what people did not know though was that an hour before the meeting they find out that the place of deployment has changed!!! they decided to just go ahead and do the meeting as planned and NOT announce the change so as not to cause mass panic....so all the literature etc they handed out has to be replaced...the good news is they are going to Japan..yes Japan..the original plan from a year ago!! Gotta love the Navy...so guess where hubby is at the moment? yep ..you guessed it Japan!! he has to figure out the birthing etc all over again...between me working 50 hours last week and the changes in plans I am exhausted..mentally and physically...I WILL never work 5 days in a row again..by Friday night I was just mush...just let me mention that it's not just 5 days from 8-5..we are talking 12 hour shifts....maybe I am just old or something but I can't do it anymore...I am so behind in everything....but I have the next couple of days off so I need to get organized for my trip... <insert big arse smile here> I am so excited...my sister sent me an email this morning and enclosed a pic of herself...I cannot believe she grew her hair that much since October..I don't know if I like it or not..what do you guys think? and I can't figure if she's dressed for a fancy dress party or if that is the fashion over there at the moment...can we say 70's?? See how flipping skinny she is....<sigh> but she never had kids so........... :-P

        

Okay I am rambling..a clear sign I need to get off here and get ready for work...

Sorry I haven't been commenting..I am so far behind I am just going to have to delete and start over....

            Good Morning Campers!

                            

Can you believe tomorrow marks the two year anniversary of BritsBlog?? It has been a roller coaster 2 years..I have to say though that with the exception of a few trolls and the misinterpretation of a couple of my entries... life has been good to me in J Land...I have found a great place to spend a few hours doing what I like to do best ..reading...and getting to peek into the lives of others... I have made many many friends and although I have yet to meet any of you in person  I feel as if we have been friends for years... I am glad I stuck it out when the going got tough and here's to another 10 years! I would like to raise a glass to our j Land angels who have passed on too...you are NOT forgotten...

So anyway..guess who is working every day this week? yep....moi...our receptionist is out with Pneumonia and our oh-so-bright office manager <insert sarcasm> let 2 girls be out on vacation at the same time... so it is up to me and the other part timer to rally round...I really don't mind because the extra dollars will come in handy for my trip...

The beach was gorgeous on Friday...the dinner party was fun..probably something to do with the margaritas...LOL..Saturday I went to a Princess House Party (they sell housewares..mostly crystal)  I bought a bud Vase for my roses... Sunday the weather turned chilly again....

Tomorrow we have the pre-deployment meeting on base..not the most cheerful thing in the world..that's where everyone comes together to pull resources and make sure everyone's wills are updated..financial documents etc are in order..that everyone has all the phone numbers they may need...stuff like that... we get briefed on who is going where..protocol for phone calls etc...what it basically means is the deployment is getting close...6 weeks from today to be precise...

Okay that's all from me..I need to get showered and head off to the clinic...have a great week....

Alcohol consumed..Zero...

Cigarettes smoked..Zero..I don't smoke anyway ..LOL

Pounds lost... 7!!!!!!!

Water drank.....enough to sink a battle ship...

Mood... excited...

Need to say..sorry for the colour of the font on previous entry..I copied and pasted from Phil and his background is black....didn't work so well for me ...

Going to..the beach tomorrow....yay!

Feeling good about...dropping some weight..mostly water weight but who cares..pounds are pounds... ;-)

Dreading...dinner party at hubby's boss's house tomorrow night...

Relating  to... Bridget Jones dreading going to Mumsies Turkey Curry dinner party on boxing day..LOL

Grateful for..Jens son getting probation and being let off house detention....

Pissed off at ..Miserable spineless trolls that torture my fabulous friends in J Land...

          Good Morning campers!

Well I did it! Booked a ticket to go surprise my dad for his 75th birthday! This is a very big deal to me and conjures up a lot of emotions. The last time I planned a surprise visit to UK it was for his 70th birthday and it all went terribly wrong..my mum was rushed to the hospital a week before I was due to fly home..I ended up being there for his birthday anyway but under the worse circumstance.. she died a few weeks later..hooked up to a ventilator.... I told my sister I am almost afraid to try to do it again as it feels like de ja vu....but he is pretty healthy although a bit down lately due to a bad back and having to be immobile.. so my sister and I were chatting on AIM and decided WTH? so we were shooting fares backing forth and I finally found one from Jacksonville to London via Philly and booked it and YES it was ridiculously expensive but it'll all be worth it..her and Di by BF from home will be picking me up at the airport...and then we are going round my dads and she's going to say she picked up his bday present early and out I pop!! Cool huh??  I arrive on may 1st and his actual bday is May 3rd..we will be having a little party for him too that night..it is also a bank holiday weekend so everyone will be off and down the pub so I shall get to see everyone...I am only there for a week so I won't have time to try and see anyone from J Land but I am pretty sure I will be back in the summer.... i am so happy to have something GOOD to look forward to..all I had to think about was hubby leaving for the whole summer...and now I have something to be excited about instead of dreading..to be honest this has been a rough few months for me and this is just what I need to cheer me up! Of course I am on a mega diet...LOL..been to the gym already this morning and will be frantically trying to lose 2 stone in 3 weeks...I know the girls understand what I am talking about! it sucks to be the fat one in the family..I can hear them all now.."I wonder how big our Lyn is this time?" All kidding aside I just have a feeling that I need to go home and see my dad..he isn't getting any younger and you just never know..the regret I still feel about not spending enough time with my Mum is still very real...

In other BritBlog news..True beauty had a birthday yesterday..my beautiful baby girl turned 23...Yikes..that makes me how old?? We went out to Red Lobster as a family for dinner..we had planned on going to the crabshack on the river but the weather put a damper on that..it has been a crappy weekend weather wise....not as bad as UK though..my sister sent me pics of the SNOW..un believable!!

I am in my usual frantic Monday morning rush but I will post some pics this week and that book list I've been talking about doing...I hope you can feel the positive energy I have..I feel like my old self again..you don't realize how low you've been feeling till you start feeling better... I have been to some pretty dark places these past few weeks... <sigh>
