Worst Job You've Had
With a recession "looming" ... or here... depending on what's going on in your world, many people have begun to consider taking jobs they might have otherwise avoided. Or could be that you took a job in the past that you thought would be great but turned out disastrous. Either way, what made it so bad? Was it the boss? Your co-workers? the work itself?
I've heard some pretty bad job stories in passing, but would love to hear yours.
As for me, once in college during summer break, I sold frozen pizzas over the phone for a "fundraising" company. It might not have been the all out worst job, but it definitely was weird. A few months after school started, we (me and my best friend who'd worked there too) drove by, and the company was gone. *insert Twilight Zone music

I work for one of the major retail stores in the U.S. Let me tell you this, I had more freedom in the military. I served 5 years in the armed forces including 13 months in Vietnam.
I am timed by my supervisor with a stop watch onn how long it takes me to push freight. The store manager is a young punk from a small hick town in Kentucky. I have never worked in such a hostile environment in my life. I have worked for this company for9 years under different managers of course. This being the worse one yet. If you kiss behind and are of the female gender you have it made, married or not. He is one of the most hateful people that I have ever met let alone work for.
He thinks everone of my co-workers are afraid of him, little does he know they think he is the real horses behind.
We cannot talk to one another let alone joke or laugh and yet the logo for the store is fast, fun and friendly. Does it ring a bell yet? Ihope that you will take this into consideration if the opportunity rises where you need a job.!!!!! -
Instead of filling out an application or submitting a resume, I feel the company should be doing it. The company should sell itself to a prospective employee. What can we do for you? They all want the best they can find and pay the least for the services or talent provided. It's tough to work for a company that doesn't pay you enugh for gas to get to work. They pass costs on to the consumer. Workers should pass the cost of living on to their employers. Benefits should be mandated. You would see a lot less "high end" autos parked in executive spaces. Pay little, get little.
