80,000 Job Cuts in March Alone
The Washington Post's latest jobs update says:
U.S. employers have now eliminated more than 232,000 jobs in the last three months. The United Stateshas not lost jobs for three months in a row since mid-2003, as the effects of the tech bubble's collapse and the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and the Pentagon were beginning to dissipate. Until January of this year, employers had added jobs for 52 consecutive months.
The bulk of the March job losses came, as they did in January and February, in the manufacturing and hard-hit construction sectors.
The bright spots seem to be education, health care and government-related jobs. A total of 60,000 jobs were added in these fields.

Everybody falls down at some point, you only fail if you don't get up and try again. Layoffs seem to be part of a vicious cycle that comes around and haunts hard working people that need to provide for their families. It is not a good feeling to be laid off, I know. Finding a quality job these days is difficult, these are indeed tough times for a lot of people. However keep that chin up and look forward don't look back, remember what your dreams are find a way to achieve them.
If you are searching for a way to reach your dreams you must look for other opportunity's and be open minded.
What if I told you that you could own your own successful business for less than the cost of dinner out. http://wonder.ownanewbusiness.com
Would that interest you?
This is a completely risk free opportunity, and you have nothing to lose.
What changes if you check it out and you decide that it isn't for you? Nothing.
Can you afford not to?
I feel that everybody should be given this opportunity, it is truly amazing!

You're Fired, Get Over It
Anyone can get the axe at any time. It happens to good people and bad ones...hard workers as well as slackers.
Therefore, it makes common sense to know what to do to survive and prosper should you ever get the dreaded "pink slip".
There are 12 steps you can take to survive and prosper.
1. Keep in mind that in the current environment the idea of womb to tomb job security is as dead as a hammer. Be loyal to your present employer, but never develop a romance with the organization.
2. Be alert and well informed at all times about the outlook for your employer and your job. If you know things are going down the drain, begin a below-the-radar search for other opportunities.
3.Always try to have enough cash in reserve to cover at least three months living expenses.
4. Keep your skills up to date with the needs of the job market.
5. Maintain an up-to-date record of your accomplishments so you can produce a resume in 24 hours.
6. Nurture contacts with people in your line of work and with those likely to employ your type of qualifications.
7. Help others who lose their jobs. Also, be of assistance to those who are looking to recruit employees.
8. Don't just sit there feeling sorry for yourself or be angry with your employer. Negotiate the best possible severance package possible for continuing pay and benefits, particularly insurance coverage. Don't forget good references, too.
9. Start immediately to search for another, better job. Reassess your goals. Define the job that will enable you to achieve these objectives.
10. Prepare a plan to market yourself. Let it be known you are available; "advertise" what you have to offer. Involve your network of friends and family in the job search.
11. Be patient. Recognize it will take time to find another acceptable position.
12. Don't panic
