Being Broke: Lessons for Life

Lessons Learned From Being Broke

- Know your priorities.

- Set goals and tune out peer pressure.

- Small sacrifices add up to big rewards. More

I came across this article on Kiplinger.com, and I thought it offered some great advice. It's also a little comforting in these trying economic times. A good reminder that it's not about the money, but what you do with it. Hope this is helpful.

I don't know if anyone will ever read this, but I'm writing about the "Sexual Harrassment Quiz."  The quiz is wrong.  The key to understanding "Sexual Harassment" is "Unwanted."  Until you express your thoughts in a way that it is clearly unwanted, the person must be given the benefit of doubt.  Take away the benefit of doubt and that will keep your relationships professional.  Some may be too professional for you to continue working there.  Is that "Sexual Harassment?"  Employers have the right to fire you "At Will" because if you won't, someone else will.  They will also keep their mouths shut.  You can't take these advice columns seriously.  They live in a "Fantasy World."  Take this as a lesson from someone broke because you can't eat integrity.  I've stood up all my life and the rules don't protect the employee.

If you are broke, and you continue to do the same thing day in and day out you will always be broke.  In todays society you must take control of your own life, we can not depend on a corporate job or the government to take care of our future, now is the time to make a simple change in your life, turn down the road to financial freedom!

I do think life does have rewards that are more valuable than money, I find that some relationships that were bad to me at the time have made me a stronger individual and wiser too. I am a positive person and though I am not positive all the time cause I am not perfect but I do try hard at keeping life enjoyable with as little stress as possible. I am glad you wrote what you did cause the link you provided may enrich someones life in a way you may not hear about but for me I think if someone makes a difference in your life they deserve to know. I think this a way of giving back to a world that is cold enough so it makes it all the more livable with individuals like yourself and the other young lady that wrote the article.
