Feeling Happy

Ok, I saw the picture, now what?

Hi,

Welcome to the debut of the Web Suite's Product Insider Blog.  Here, I'll be providing product tips on new, cool features and asking you what else you'd like us to work on.  I have lots of things to share with you, but I'll start with one of our recent additions to webmail.

Did you notice the new feature that was recently added?  The AOL Web Suite is now integrated with Pictures
The new features are:
  • When you get an email from someone with a picture in it, webmail will show the image inside the email body.  No more having to open or save each of the attached pictures in order to see them.  Ain't that handy?
  • The next two features apply only when the sender uses AOL/AIM webmail to send you a picture.  Clicking on the picture in the body of the received email will also show a larger image view through AOL Pictures, so that you can take advantage of all the features available in Pictures (slideshow, add captions, turn into screen saver, etc.).
  • It's easy for you to save the received pictures to the AOL Pictures Shoebox (a temporary holding place on AOL Pictures until you move them to another folder) or on to your local computer.  Why would you want them in the Shoebox?  Because then you'll have access to all your pictures in one central location for whenever you get online (such as when you're on a trip, at the office, or at a friend's house).
  • There's also a convenient "Save All" button--perfect for those times you get a bunch of pictures from your friend and you want to postpone getting carpal tunnel syndrome.  :-)  Click on the screen shot below to enlarge it.

Like these features?  Does it help you manage your received pictures easier?  Is there anything else we can do to make it better for you?  Let us know.  We want to help you get the most out of your product.

More topics will follow soon, so come back here often.

‘Til next time…

Can anyone help me with this,
I have an AOL email account.  If someone with an email not AOL,  sends me an email with imbedded photos, and I try to Forward this email, it does not carry with it, or include the photos.  I have tried several different work arounds for this, and cannot get it to forward with the photos.
    Any suggestions??

I see you're getting a lot of hits on the "shoebox" purging problem.  Flicker and ShutterFly and Kodak have a handle on purging a user storage area..BUT there not email providers.  YET! I tried the "http:/picture.aol.com" and "www.picture.aol.com". But I can't get to the link.  Any other suggestions?
Will it be accessible w/in the email "Insert Picture" process?  Seems logical.
