What's a Social Mail Gadget?

In the Windows Vista world, a Gadget is a small program that sits on
your computer's desktop that serves some type of specific function.
The Mail Team has been working on a very cool AOL Social Mail Gadget that
debuted earlier this week at Microsoft's MIX conference and I wanted to
share with you what was shown.
The new Social Mail Gadget will give you one-click access to email, IM, photos, and video, as well as a window into your Inbox. It's pretty cool because it lets you do things like place higher priority on the emails received from your "A-List" people (the short list of people whose emails you read first, like your "inner circle" of family and friends). So among all the emails in your Inbox, the most critical ones will always be at your finger tips, separated out for you.
To start with, there will be two Social Mail Gadget "skins": surfboards and guitars and you'll be able to create your own personalized skins to your liking. For more details, go here.
Here's the surfboards Gadget in the closed, mouse-hover, and open states:

This is just one example of the next generation email products that are being worked on, to make your email-life a little easier. Kudos to the mail team for a good looking Gadget! I want one now. How many of you Vista users would like this too?
'Til next time,
Tae

How to change my other e-mails from a different provider to my new aol provider and received the previous messages transfered to my new aol e-mail?

We know Tae is reading these emails, but how do we know senior officials at AOL are aware of this horrendous debacle!? You have really done a terrible "number" on us. It is unforgiveable. How dare you decide what is best for everyone when what you had was perfectly acceptable. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves!!

Your e-mail has become snail mail. I am an XP user and the new set up is terrible. If something is not broke why fix it?

Does AOL know that when one is trying to work, we don't have time fro pop-ups. Even the spell shecker puts up alternate words right in front of the word under question. Do they have any idea how irritating this is?

You can have all your emails automatically moved from (most) your other accounts to your AOL/AIM one by using the Easy Transfer feature. You can get to the free feature in your account, under Settings | Accounts.
