Feeling Sad

Time is so precious- do not waste it.
Good Morning.
I hope that Reggie will not get after me for showing you this good picture. That smile cannot be beat. Reggie is doing a lot for us tomato lovers and growers, and when you read TOMATO CASUAL think of Reggie. I am glad to have him as a friend. DAD.
I must find out about you now, did you have a good night ? Mine was not very good, I did not sleep very well but I hope that as the days goes on that things will be better, maybe a cup of hot coffee will help us. it ant the tea is always ready around 4: 30 a.m. each morning. So stop when you can and sit and talk to me, It' helps me when you do that. Dad.

One of the most annoying things to me about gardening in the city has always been how much attention it draws.

As with all good things in life, there are many superstitions connected to our beloved tomato.
Have you ever wondered why tomatoes were given the scientific name of Lycopersicon esculentum?
It stems from old German folklore. It was believed that members of the nightshade family, which includes tomatoes, were used by witches to produce werewolves.
This practice is known as lycanthropy. Indeed, the common German word for tomato translates to “wolf peach”. Linnaeus, the man who created the current scientific naming system of binomial nomenclature, recalled this legend and gave the tomato the name Lycopersicon esculentum.

We are doing some work on these three webb pages below, seeking to make them more helpful and interesting to you.
I want to tell you who may not know that the three webb pages below were my first experience in writing. Dad's Tomato Garden listed first below was first and the other two came a few months later.
On August the 28th 2003 a little over a year later I saw the need of a journal to work with my webb pages, so here is what I came up with and it has proved very useful to me. Dad's Tomato Garden Journal.
I hope that you will look at these often, because I am going to have a few interesting things there.
