    So THAT'S what those big white plastic tubular things I saw on quite a few people's land out in the Mojave are!  Sounds like a very good way to grow tomatoes and that's not all.

    Oh, Dad, you've definitely found out my secret.  I LOVE GRITS LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE.  I've been known to eat 'em three times a day, and you're absolutely right -- they ain't fit to eat 'til they spit at ya ;)  Personally, I like mine poured in a loaf pan, sliced real thin, and then fried, with a lot of pepper on 'em.  Slide some greens up next to 'em and some tomatoes, too, I'll be happy as a, um, donkey eatin' cactus. :))))))))

    I haven't had fried green tomatoes since I was little. And I've actually never had grits, even though I grew up in the south, but this made me want to try them.
