HAP HAP HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY (Bonus! Sarah's Column)
Chillin'
HAP HAP HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
A happy freedom day to you, my dear reader. I have changed my layout color to patriotic for today. I will change it to something else by my next entry.
I hope you have an all-American cookout food today whether it be a hamburger, hot dog, steak, or a grilled veggie burger for you vegans. Since my family dislikes flies and mosquitoes I will probably have my outdoor food inside in good ole AC. But it will be American as was the flag I hung outside my door this morning. I mean I believe it was sewn and put together in America. I plan to put a red, white and blue velvet bow on my mailbox soon. I plan to wear a favorite red t-shirt today as well as blue shorts. And one of my two flag pins.
My daughter, Sarah asked me for a website of her own. I said no because I am wary of the dangers of children blogging on the internet. As a better alternative I said she could write in my journal. I will read and monitor what she writes before sending it. Comments from your children (monitored by you, of course) are welcome. Here is her column:
SARAH'S COLUMN
Hi I'm Sarah. I'm the ultimate pokemon Champion. I love to play pokemon Pearl. I have two legendary pokemon in Pearl. Though, I have seen many. Pearl is about a girl (or it can be a guy) and her friend ( who is also a boy) set off to their hometown lake and find a rumored Red Gyarados. She also learned that her mom Johanna, was a contest judge! She might be a contest star! While on her journey to becoming the greatest Pokemon trainer she surfs on three lakes. In the middle of the lake there is a cavern. She goes into the cavern and she finds the unexpected. Right smack dab in the middle of the Valor cavern is a Azelf! It is believed that Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf all came from the same egg. It is also believed that one of the lagendary pokemon in this game created the Sinnoh region. I also have a Palkia. My sister got hooked on the game and she found Palkia. I'm not telling you where she found it! My favorite pokemon is Mime Jr. I wish that God would've created pokemon so I could be ( in real life) the best pokemon trainer ever! Some how (but I don't know how) I want to make pokemon real. No more stuffed animals! I want real pokemon!
BOOKS SARAH SUGGESTS
Pokemon Get well, Pikachu! adapted by Tracey West
Pokemon Battle Frontier Team Rocket Truce adapted by Tracey West
Offical Pokemon Pokedex By Tracey West and Katherine Noll
BACK TO MOM
Okay, Sarah, if we can make test tube babies and clone sheep maybe one day scientists will find a way to make Pokemons real (but I hope not, shiver, shiver, shake). I have no idea how to play my girls' video games and no clue as to how or why they keep track of these virtual characters.
Oh well, of young culture, I must say I love the new Shrek movie and the McDonald Shrek Happy Meal toys. Especially when the toys burp. I recommend seeing the new Shrek movie even if you don't have young children. It does have a great message about believing in yourself.

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Chillin'
I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Hello again, dear readers. As you can probably tell, I have been extremely busy with God knows what this past year. But thanks to the requests of my fan club (thanks, Krissy and Valerie) I am back.
My greatest adventure for today was walking my two dogs, Kady and Cole. It was beautiful outside; the air was low in humidity. My dogs did their doggy business as we strolled through the neighborhood. It has occured to me that if people were more like dogs, er, like my dogs to be exact, what a great world this earth would be. My dogs are kind, compassionate, happy and fun to be with. They are generally quiet except when some potential fiend sets foot on my property.
I think I will be back tomorrow (although I don't make promises anymore) to delight and entertain. Until then please
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEK

EXTRA! EXTRA! MY LLAMA (NOT MY MAMA) WEARS ARMY BOOTS!
Happy | None
A NEW YEAR HAS DAWNED AND MY LLAMA WEARS ARMY BOOTS!
Welcome to 2007! Hope it's your best year ever. I have some good things planned for this year and I hope you do also. Perhaps more on that in another edition.
I have decided to rename this journal once again. I realized after I renamed it the "Sometimes Post" that my talented journaling sister, Krissy, already had a longstanding journal named "Sometimes I Think" (which, as most of you know, is here on AOL) and that my new journal title sounded too much like hers and that would be stealing.
I wanted to rename this the Intermittent or Sporadic or Surprise Post. My father wanted me to rename it the Infrequent Post (where's your blog, Dadeeeeoo?) but no thank you, father. Just joking, I love you, Dad.
I have decided to rename this online publication "My Llama Wears Army Boots" because my daughter, Elizabeth reccommended and originated that name. So I will rename it "My Llama Wears Army Boots" at least for today. Do you like this name? I had wanted it to have a newspaper name because I could live out my life's fantasy of owning, publishing and writing my own newspaper. Maybe this new name will get me noticed by the AOL Journal staff. I already want to qualify for a VIVI award or nomination like my sisters Krissy and Valerie. Their blogs are "Sometimes I Think" and "There is a Season" and they have won and/or been nominated for VIVI awards. Thanks for the plugs about my new journal in your logs, sissies; I thought I'd give you one here.
Anyway, what do you think of this name? If you can think of a better name I can use, please let me know. I hope it is not difficult for you to find my journal every time I change it's name. There is one constant about this journal (for those of you who find stability in consistency), that is it will always be written by me and the other is I will never change myself into another gender.
If you are reading this hot off the press, I hope you have a restful sleep tonight and wake up happy and refreshed. Don't forget to floss your teeth first, though.
P.S. Thank you to all who have wished me a happy new year. Back at ya!

LATEST NEWS: THE DAILY JOURNAL IS NOW THE SOMETIMES JOURNAL
Quiet | Lord of the Rings soundtrack
THE DAILY JOURNAL IS RENAMED
Hello, dear J-Land readers. A happy New Year's Eve to all of you. As writer and editor and only staff member of the Daily Journal I have found that I have been too busy lately to write in this every day. I am going to have to change it's name to the Sometimes Journal. Please check back when you have a free minute for entertainment and sometimes perhaps a profound thought or idea. I will be writing in it sometimes! If you put me on alert you will know immediately if I have journaled. Even though I won't always write in it daily I will try to check once in a while for your comments. I read each and every one of your comments even if I may not respond. I appreciate each and every comment! THANK YOU for the warm and wonderful welcome you have given me.
My Christmas was nice. My husband's side celebrated their traditional Christmas Even celebration at my home. There was ham, German potato salad, green beans with bacon and cream sauce, homemade cranberry sauce, sausage, French bread, and on and on. For dessert we had a Christmas log made of vanilla and chocolate ice cream and another of mint and vanilla ice cream. And of course, the cookies. This year I made homemade cookies from Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough. I did add candy sprinkles, nuts and dried cherries to the dough. I made real homemade cranberry nut bread using the recipe on the back of the Ocean Spray fresh cranberry package. I only gained a half a million pounds from all this food.
We went to mass on the Sunday morning on Christmas eve and on Monday morning, Christmas Day to celebrate Jesus's birthday.
There is much more to write but this cyberpress will be taking a break while the editor eats lunch. And one more thing,
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Leaves and Jimmy
The leaves are tumbling down, down, down in my backyard. Yesterday my husband and I raked the entire yard. We put the leaves in our back woods so they would decompose and fertilize the soil and because we don't want to bag them. Today when I looked out the window it didn't look as if we had raked at all. It rained last night and there are soggy leaves blanketing the grass.
My person of the day is Jimmy Stevens. He is a little nine year old boy from somewhere in Texas. This weekend he was in his mother's car when she passed out at the steering wheel. He got up on her lap and drove he and his two younger siblings (and mother) to safety. Then he stretched his foot and put it on the brake and put the car in park. Then he calmly called 911 and alerted medical personnel to the scene. The kind of child every parent would love to have. When interviewed, his mother said she was taking him to Red Lobster as his reward.

A Journal is Born
Chillin'
A JOURNAL IS BORN
Saturday, November 11, Sometown, USA - An online journal was born to Grace today at 9:20 AM. It is small because it was just born. Hopefully, it will get brighter and bigger as it grows up. Right now it is private to family and friends. If it goes public that will be announced.
Grace is quoted as thinking, "I hope my family, friends and I will enjoy this journal. I have started it because I keep thinking and telling people that I like to write but I find I haven't been writing much. I hope this journal will spark my creativity to produce other forms of writing. I keep wanting to write a longhand journal but find my hands don't want to do it. So I will join the rest of you J-Landers and be technologically and journally up to date. It is also exciting to think this may be left on here forever and my great great grandchildren can find out about me. The good, the bad and the ugly. So one doesn't need to be a famous writer to be remembered and published, only to have a computer and a keyboard.
I want to leave you with something I read about a week ago. I saw it on an embroidery kit. It read:
Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow's a mystery.
Today is a gift --
That's why it's called the present.
