Leaves and Jimmy

The leaves are tumbling down, down, down in my backyard.  Yesterday my husband and I raked the entire yard.  We put the leaves in our back woods so they would decompose and fertilize the soil and because we don't want to bag them.  Today when I looked out the window it didn't look as if we had raked at all.  It rained last night and there are soggy leaves blanketing the grass.

My person of the day is Jimmy Stevens.  He is a little nine year old boy from somewhere in Texas.  This weekend he was in his mother's car when she passed out at the steering wheel.  He got up on her lap and drove he and his two younger siblings (and mother) to safety.  Then he stretched his foot and put it on the brake and put the car in park.  Then he calmly called 911 and alerted medical personnel to the scene.  The kind of child every parent would love to have.  When interviewed, his mother said she was taking him to Red Lobster as his reward.

How sweet. That little boy deserved a lot for taking care of his family.
    Take care, Chrissie

Thanks for returning those leaves to the woods, wish more would do it.  Kudos to little Jimmy, what a brave little spark of calm certainly and knowing what to do!  Very nice post.  CATHY
