HAP HAP HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY (Bonus! Sarah's Column)
HAP HAP HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
A happy freedom day to you, my dear reader. I have changed my layout color to patriotic for today. I will change it to something else by my next entry.
I hope you have an all-American cookout food today whether it be a hamburger, hot dog, steak, or a grilled veggie burger for you vegans. Since my family dislikes flies and mosquitoes I will probably have my outdoor food inside in good ole AC. But it will be American as was the flag I hung outside my door this morning. I mean I believe it was sewn and put together in America. I plan to put a red, white and blue velvet bow on my mailbox soon. I plan to wear a favorite red t-shirt today as well as blue shorts. And one of my two flag pins.
My daughter, Sarah asked me for a website of her own. I said no because I am wary of the dangers of children blogging on the internet. As a better alternative I said she could write in my journal. I will read and monitor what she writes before sending it. Comments from your children (monitored by you, of course) are welcome. Here is her column:
SARAH'S COLUMN
Hi I'm Sarah. I'm the ultimate pokemon Champion. I love to play pokemon Pearl. I have two legendary pokemon in Pearl. Though, I have seen many. Pearl is about a girl (or it can be a guy) and her friend ( who is also a boy) set off to their hometown lake and find a rumored Red Gyarados. She also learned that her mom Johanna, was a contest judge! She might be a contest star! While on her journey to becoming the greatest Pokemon trainer she surfs on three lakes. In the middle of the lake there is a cavern. She goes into the cavern and she finds the unexpected. Right smack dab in the middle of the Valor cavern is a Azelf! It is believed that Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf all came from the same egg. It is also believed that one of the lagendary pokemon in this game created the Sinnoh region. I also have a Palkia. My sister got hooked on the game and she found Palkia. I'm not telling you where she found it! My favorite pokemon is Mime Jr. I wish that God would've created pokemon so I could be ( in real life) the best pokemon trainer ever! Some how (but I don't know how) I want to make pokemon real. No more stuffed animals! I want real pokemon!
BOOKS SARAH SUGGESTS
Pokemon Get well, Pikachu! adapted by Tracey West
Pokemon Battle Frontier Team Rocket Truce adapted by Tracey West
Offical Pokemon Pokedex By Tracey West and Katherine Noll
BACK TO MOM
Okay, Sarah, if we can make test tube babies and clone sheep maybe one day scientists will find a way to make Pokemons real (but I hope not, shiver, shiver, shake). I have no idea how to play my girls' video games and no clue as to how or why they keep track of these virtual characters.
Oh well, of young culture, I must say I love the new Shrek movie and the McDonald Shrek Happy Meal toys. Especially when the toys burp. I recommend seeing the new Shrek movie even if you don't have young children. It does have a great message about believing in yourself.

I would like to offer you congrats for winning Sentence of the week at Val's. I found you through her blog.
It is nice to meet you! Ilove the name of your Blog! I love Creativity!
Last Saturday I put something up on my blog about my daughter. She was so pleased about the response she wants to have her own as well. I have been considering it, but I fear the same thing you do. Especially since some of my personal information is on the blog so that people can reach me for business purposes.
My daughter is 13. How old is yours? I am considering doing a Shared Journal so that she can do it freely but... I can still have Editorship over it. Would love your input.
Again it is very nice to meet you and congrats again! I've added you to alerts
