Bill's Correspondence Chess Diary

This is a game in 05N15. It was delayed for almost a month. Frank claiming he never got an assignment sheet. Here are our first two moves.

1 e4 c6 2 d4 d5

Frank then sends 3. dxc5

Obviously this is illegal. I replied back thinking he played or meant 3. exd5

I hear from Frank again yesterday and he replied again insisting on 3. dxc5.

How does one keeping making an illegal move on move 3? Doesn't he bother to look at the position.

  It should be noted that the game did go on and ended in a draw. The rant that caused the entry in this blog was probably due to the fact that Jempty had difficulty in the game and is unable to beat a player with a rating 200 points below his own. In fact, there were subsequent games played, with Jempty unable to win even once, although the difference in ratings is still the same 200 points. In one of the games, Jempty delayed the game for a full two months and had to be reported in a time complaint. Sounds a bit like sour grapes.

  Was this an email event, in which case he is most likely cutting and pasting a previous entry. Dune should be receptive, no?
