Words to Ponder

Get On With It

There's usually not enough time
to get everything done, yet there is
always time to get something done.
When time is short, the worst thing
you can do is to resent or worry or
complain about the lack of time.
Rather than becoming overly concerned
about what you cannot do,
get busy working on what you can do.
Do what you can, when you can,
where you are, with whatever resources
you have available to you.
Everything that anyone has ever
accomplished has been done
with no more than that.
Everyone who gets anywhere
must start somewhere, and
that somewhere is
where you are right now.
You can wish for life to
have been more fair, or resent the fact
that you're having to operate
at a disadvantage, but empty wishes and
bitter resentments won't produce any value.
Better to get on with what you can do,
and to move yourself forward anyway.
In the most ideal circumstances and
in the most dismal circumstances,
there is always something you can do.
Sure, some people have it easier than others,
but is that any reason to hold yourself back?
Get over it, get on with it, and
get yourself moving positively forward.
Always do what you can do, and
you'll find that it's more than enough.
-Ralph Marston
