When significant life changes, loss, or illness confront us, we may discover our habitual way of viewing and handling life is challenged. Judaism has under-stood this since ancient times and offers a rich legacy  and tradition to draw upon.  These" R'fuah Shemach"Healing Plaques help create a spiritual pathway using visual elements for meditation, comtemplation , comfort and renewal on the journey to healing and wholeness.  Each piece is one-of-a-kind, weaving w/mixed media; Hebrew and English quotes; signed and numbered by the artist. Various sizes; framed . A special inscription to a recepient will be included.

V'IMOTEINU: And Our Mothers

"V'IMOTEINU:And Our Mothers..." is a series of ten one-of-a-kind artworks based on the Jewish matriarchs. They represent Rabinowitz's ongoing fascination w/the voices, power & wisdom of the ancient women of the Torah. They seek to echo a legacy that has often been hidden,   Although deeply rooted in the Jewish tradition,  these weavings/ assembalges reflect all women's stories & their lessons are for all humanity.  SARAH, No. 1 (Elder, Old Age, Fire); HAGAR, No. 5, (The Egyptian,Our Arab Mother);  REBEKAH, No. 2 (Youth/Water); No. 3, LEAH (Spirit/Air);  RACHEL, No. 4 (Earth/Middle Age).  Ind. texts  accompany each piece. V'IMOTEINU has been exhibited thoughout the United States.  by W. WOMEN AT THE WALL: A Call for Peace

"WOMEN AT THE WALL: A Call for Peace...", 1st exhibited at the UNITED NATIONS, is an interactive assemblage of weaving/mixed media, (copper, handmade-paper, glass, wood, ceramic, parchment, abalone, prayer shawl, etc.). It calls upon all peoples of the earth to act in consort for harmony and peace. The variety of forms & materials reflect the diversity in our world, the interweaving of our struggles & the creative outpourings of the human spirit. "Women at The Wall..."has traveled to various localities throughout the USA. Over 1200 "Prayers for Peace" have been written on scrolls of parchment and left on the artwork, 8' X 4'X 3',  by W. "LANDSCAPES OF THE SOUL: Hebrew Melodies..." is a series of eight one-of-a-kind Weaving/Mixed-Media Assemblages which celebrates our reverent relationship to the land and calls upon Jews and all peoples, in co-creation with God, to preserve and maintain our glorious planet Earth. Made of copper; silk & metallic fibers; papyrus & hand-made papers; abalone; beads; Star of David; ceramic; glass; Hebrew calligraphy;   tallis; & redwood. No. 1.:"WHAT IS ABOVE IS BELOW"- refers to the Zohar, and the concept the spirialing down that which is from up above and allis one, 'echad,'  37 " X 64" X 6". No. 2 "ETZ HAYIMM: It Is A Tree of Life- contains the Kaballistaic sefirotic , attributes in the Tree of Life, 42" X 24" X 6"; No.3: SIMCHA (Joy)- expresses the delight we find as we journey into abundant nature, even the smallest& aimplest of things; No.4: KADOSH, KADODH, KADOSH (Holy, Holy, Holy)- A work which hallows the holy and scared in God's  natural world and its workings; No. 5: YOTSER: (In the Darkness, There Shall Be Light) This piece reminds us " even in the darkeness , You are there..." By W. "LOOK TO THE EARTH & IT SHALL LEAD YOU..."

Weaving/Mixed-Media Assemblages based on Psalms & Torah; No.1.: 'PRAISE GOD..." based on Psalm 141, evocoking all of nature and humans in the praising og God, our Creator; No. 2,"AND A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT..."  based on Psalm 46, celebrating the act of creation in nature & our need to honor & sustain that coventional relationaship. No. 3: "A CLOUD BY DAY AND PILLAR OF FIRE BY NIGHT..." reflects God's presence through Nature during the journeying times;  No. 4: "AND GOD SPOKE FROM A FIERY MOUNTAIN..." expresses God's manifestion in the wilderness & through revelation. No. 5: "YOU WHO MAKE WINDS YOUR MESSENGERS..." symbolic of God in all things &  beyond all things.  Silk, wool & metallic fiber; and /or black marble, rough-cut pine; Hebrew calli-graphy; glass; abalone; metal; ceramic, etc. & Tallis (Prayer shawl) .
