Some Pictures

A short entry with some pictures from yesterday & today.

The cat birthday parties were great...they all loved the "tuna cake" and enjoyed their special day.  I didn't take any pictures, some are camera shy and I didn't want to upset them.

I'm a way behind on my journal reading ~ it's that time of year, not enough hours in the day.   Today we have on & off storms which means little or limited internet service :(  I'll be getting around soon ~ it seems everyone is busy now.

Here are some pics from the weekend while we were out running errands.

This is how the Amish do their hay baling in ~ and I think we have it rough when it is hay time!

Amish mode of transportation, our roads are filled with buggies especially on Sundays.

This little groundhog & his "wife" made their home behind my house.  Every day they come out and lay on this old stump.  He isn't bothered by me or any noise, she is frightened easily.  Hopefully one of these days I can get both of them.  I love these guys, they are adorable & so fun to watch. I wonder if they are the sames one who were here last year & would come up on the deck for a drink of water.

Red ant on a dandilion.

Enjoy your Sunday..peace to all.

Wow, that is one tough way to bale hay. I had to do it years ago during my first marriage and it's tough work. I couldn't even imagine doing it the way the Amish do. But they are a tough group of people, way tough. And their quilts? Ohhhhhhh! I'm just learning and in my lifetime I would never, ever come close to their natural God given talent. And they do it by hand! No fancy tools like rotary cutters, fancy rulers (like I have...lol) or and of the "new" quilting helpers that have come out over the years. I do believe they might sew the "quilting" part. Where you sew so the quilt doesln't bunch up. I forget what they call it...LOL

    Great pictures as always!
    You take good care.
    Big Hugs,

It's been a number of years since I saw horse drawn anything so it is treat to see the photos of the team pulling the hay baler and the buggy out on the road.  I mourned the end of the horse age for us, even though cattle cannot be managed without cow ponies so they are still being trained by local cattle ranchers.  Gerry

I am with you, not enough hours in the day, but it is still good to have the warmer weather to work in. You had a cat birthday party. That is so cool. I know they all enjoyed it so much. :)  Tuna cake, how neat! Hugs, Kelly

I haven't seen the Amish in real life only in pictures and on tv.  Their life is harder than ours by far.  I'm going to have to come to PA to visit my cousin and see the country for myself.  I'm glad you're still having a great time with your camera lense.  That ant picture is so cool.
