For or against?

With all the back and forth about who is responsible for the financial mess, just remember there was no filibuster against any of the bills or policies being discussed, therefore any of the bill or policies were not that objectionable to the Senatorial Elite.

Reaction to Obama "Lipstick on a pig"

If Obama is to imply that his use of the phase "lipstick on a pig" is not derogatory to Palin than he should be ridiculed for a lack of communication skills, in thah his audience obviously did not receive the phrase in the same manner he presented it.

Misleading Poll Question

"Do you think the United States should keep its military forces in Iraq until civil order is restored there, even if that means continued U.S. military casualties?"

or

"Do you think the United States should keep its police forces in Chicago until civil order is restored there, even if that means continued U.S. police casualties?"

Immigration Policy

My problem with Immigration policy is one of emphasis.  Instead of making sure that no "bad" people get in, we should allow as many "good" people get in as possible.

Candidate Debates and American Idol

How are the recent candidate debates any different than the first episode of any season of American Idol?

I support Sen. Reid

Mischievous

I support Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi.

But they are in great danger and unless there is a change in course they he will lose the battle they are in.  Therefore, we should attach to their paychecks to redeployment directive to start leaving Washington in October with a completion date of next March.

SARBOX

If SARBOX was so good at having management control its processes why doesn't it apply to government?

Again Republicans do not know how to lead

Frustrated

Hastert is no leader.  He should be taking the bull by the horns and come up with a very simple and effective staement.  Rather than worry about the facts he should be pointing out the history of punishments on sexual conduct in the last 25-2 years and do as the House has always done.  Nothing, and let the voters decide.  After all they get to choose both Foley's and Hasterts fate next month.

Taliban at Yale

Mischievous

I don't see what the problem is at Yale.  They can explain his admission as a special student because of his outstanding community service.  He has spend much of his life in service to his political party and country advancing policies he truly believed in.

Otherwise we can just not put Yale in a group of elite colleges, because obviously they do not belong there.  After someone with a third-grade education and passes an high-school equivalence test is admitted because of his outstanding community service.

Is there a Democratic Party Anymore?

RE:  Vanishing Species: Rockefeller Republicans and Jackson Democrats.

This blog illustrates something I have been thinking about for a while.  The political parties used to be a tent to which people with a majority of common interests could combine resources and elect<SPAN class=spell id=sp-1 title="Click here to replace with: etc, sect" style="PADDING-RIGHT: 2px; BACKGROUND-POSITION: left bottom; PADDING-LEFT: 2px; BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(http://sdk.webmail.aol.com/sdk/20050527/images/bg_spellingErr.gif); PADDING-BOTTOM: 2px; CURSOR: hand; COLOR: black; PADDING-TOP: 2px; BACKGROUND-REPEAT: repeat-x; BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow" _backupTitle="null"> friends.  Any real animosity with issues would be worked out among friends.  With the elimination of Rocke Republicans and Jackson Democrats the parties have become more and more ideologically based.

The Republican have gone conservative and the Democrats have gone liberal.  But why are Republicans a party and not the Democrats?  Because they still do not have ideological standards that must be addressed to join.  How many anti-abortion Democrats receive Democratic Party money and how many pro-abortion Republicans receive Republican Party money.  I think the answer is none and many (All Republican Senators from New England).

If a party is used to combine resources and elect friends, why have a Democratic Party? The only friends the Democratic Party chairman has (George Soros, Hollywood, ect) do not contribute to the party, they contribute to MoveOn.  That is the reason Feingold/McCain campaign finance reform gives more power to thse types of groups.  That is also the reason Sen Feingold is not worried about his fellow Democrats when he asks for censure of President Bush.  He is realizing that he doesn't need the Democratic party any more.  His friends and his money are MoveOn.org.
