Gosh it's been so long

I just haven't been journaling lately.  Don't know what's up with that.  Just haven't felt like it.  I have been reading your alerts though and commenting once in a while.

The summertime is so busy here.  We've been hanging out together, having fun.  Kara has been registering for school in the fall.  That's not an easy thing registering for college.

I've been sewing and quilting lately.  Seems to be my "thing" this summer.

A baby quilt I made for a friend.

and here's some totes and bags I've made:  (I'll be selling some of these soon.)

I love this patchwork quilted bag because I used the finest quality material from the quilt shop to make it.  I didn't even want to use the material because it is so soft and fine.  But the purse came out great!!  I love it.  I had a lady order one of these for her laptop so I'll have to change it up a bit to fit a laptop.  It will have a flap over the top and a long strap instead of handles. It is very thick and soft so it will protect a laptop nicely.

Well, hope you enjoyed a little look at what I've been up to this summer.

Oh, and we went to Ocala last weekend and visited Silver River State Park.  Beautiful place!!  Near Silver Springs where they filmed all the old Tarzan movies.  The monkies are still in the woods there!!  No kidding!

I got my computer fixed!!!!

I AM SO HAPPY!! LOL  This computer has been broken for about a year and all that was wrong was a worn out cable.  That's why it wouldn't boot up.  Can you believe it??  It only cost me $50 to diagnose and fix it.  I should have taken it in a long time ago.  The guy said he was just about to reformat it when he saw that cable was messed up.  I would have lost all my good stuff.  PSP and pictures,music...etc.

I gave the other one I was using to my daughter so she will leave mine alone.  I do not share well with others. :]-

Forgot to tell you all that the scholarship that my daughter received, the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, is paid for by the Florida Lottery.  Every child in Fl with decent grades is eligible.

We might get our stimulus payment this week.  haha....what a big freakin joke.  Did you know that the Bush Administration borrowed the money from China for the Wonderful and Fabulous Stimulus package??  So yeah, now we're all contributing to the National Debt.  cha ching!!  cha ching!!  I don't even want it but I do need it just like everyone else. The saddest fact is that people are using that money to pay bills and they're not spending it in the stores which was the intention.  I guess George Bush doesn't realize that when the economy gets bad that people get behind on their bills. duh.  And now look who we have as prospective presidents.

<-----shakes head.  Wouldn't it be funny if everyone in America wrote in someone else. lol  Like George Carlin.  lmao.

Okie dokie artichokie, now that you are politically correct, I will leave you with this little compset that I made.  Snaggables.

Father's Day 2008

I sure did miss my dad yesterday.  I wanted to go out to the cemetery but I never made it.  I think Ryan and I will go this weekend and clean it up a bit.  Last time we went it was pretty rough looking.  The groundskeepers mow but that's about it.  We went on Memorial Day and brushed off some of the graves and read them.  It is a very old grave yard where my family is buried.  My grandmother is buried there and grandfather who was in the military and was stationed in Germany.  He died in the 60's before I was born.  My uncle is there and one of my aunts and although my dad was cremated, we always pay tribute to him there because that is where we held services for him.  My dad was in the Navy.  Then I usually go to my brothers grave site which is only a few blocks away.  Lots of people go out there because we always find flowers and mementos and photos and stuff laying around.  Lots of people loved my brother.

Kara's car is getting the body work done.  It's a 1981 Camaro and she is getting it painted Charcoal gray with metallic flake.  She chose those colors. She will also need new rims and tires and I think her dad and I are going to get the new interior put in for her.  It'll be like a brand new car when it's all said and done and it runs really nice except for being loud but I think Ryan is going to take the glass packs out and put in a muffler to help curb the noise.  I will worry about that child every day when she drives that car. lol  Only because I drove the same thing at her age.  Mrs. Andretti.

sigh.

Did I happen to mention that I hate my job.  I have been off for 5 days but I go back tonight.  Every week night from 5-10.   The only reason I hate it though is because they don't pay me enough money and I have to be away from my family.  But I have to work nights because I help run our business during the day.  Our business has suffered much in the last year and it will probably take us another year to get everything back on track even though it is doing much better now. That is one of the reasons why I have to have a part time job.  I really need to find something in an office though because I just wasn't cut out for the retail business.  What kind of office is open in the evenings?  I can't think of anything.  I still keep applying at publix though because I know that is a great place to work and they have great benefits even for part time employees.  Maybe something will come up soon.  I also applied at Walmart and Walgreens just to see if I could get more money there.  Doubt it but it's worth a try.   I'm still babysitting and I'm also thinking about selling Avon and consigning our old clothes.  Every little bit helps right?  I'm only contributing about half of what I should be contributing to the household income.

Ramble ramble...

I don't update this journal as much as I should because it really helps to get my thoughts and feelings out.  Makes me feel a little less stressed.  And I've been trying to read some journals but it just seems like every minute, every second of my time is filled up with something.  Like now I have to go clean the kitchen from breakfast and lunch and do some more laundry, then fix dinner for the family later because I have to work tonight.  Kara and Ryan are both working today too.  Talk to you all soon!!

Graduation 2008

My baby girl graduated high school with a weighted GPA of 3.4. She was approved for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship which pays for 75% of college.  She begins community college in the fall and then will follow up with art school in Savannah in 2 years.  They have to grow up don't they?  Am I proud? pshhhhhhh....

We had a huge blow out party for her here at the house and she raked in the dough.  She got like $800 from friends and family which she is using for her car and insurance.  She has a job painting faces and doing Henna tattoos at the local theme park.

Then the actual graduation was on Monday at the University.

Kara and Cindi...Cindi's a proud sister.  She is also going for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship.  Here's how it works:

Every child in Florida who graduates with a GPA of 3.0 or above qualifies for the Medallion scholarship which pays for 75% of college.  And every child who graduates with a GPA of 3.5 or above qualifies for Gold scholarship ...100% of paid college.  Do you have something similar where you live?

School's out for the summer......

Come join us!!!  and Happy Mother's Day too!!

Hi J-land!!  First of all, I'd like to take a moment to say a very Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!  I know so many wonderful moms here!  You all deserve to be spoiled everyday!!  I had a very nice day.  My family took me to Nokomis Beach.  First we had breakfast at the really good restaurant called Anita's.  I had a Belgium Waffle with strawberries and whip cream and vanilla ice cream.  OMG.  It was to die for.  Even though I couldn't finish it all.

Then we headed down to the beach.  We swam and made sea turtle sand castles and I buried Jake in the sand.  We saw some dolphins and it was just a wonderful day.  Then we visited my mom for a few.  I gave her some cash...her favorite gift!! lol  After that we came home and showered and cleaned up and went to my Mother In laws for dinner and to hang out with her.  We told old stories and just caught up with them around the dinner table.  What a wonderful Mother's Day I had.  The best in a long time.  Hope you had a nice day too!!  Happy Mother's day!!

Last but not least, I have some wonderful news!!  I have been asked by my very very good friend Angela aka ChillinInJville to be co-owner of her PSP List called Lil Angelic Designs.  I have been a member and on staff for a few years now and in other lists so I decided it's about time for me to step it up a bit and I accepted the offer.  There are some really wonderful taggers and PSPers in this list!! Some of the best!!  And quite a few you may already know right here in J-land!!  Me, Angela, Chris, Gwen, Angel, TerryAnn, Missie, Emmi, Diama, Lisa Jo, Phyllis,Dana plus taggers from The Tag Team and  Candied Poison Tags....lots of great peeps here!!  I love you ladies!!

So, the reason I am writing this is to invite YOU to join us.  I'd like all of my friends who are interested in PSP, collecting tags, compsets, blinkies, friendship, games, etc, etc, etc, to be a part of our list.  You don't even have to be a PSPer to join.  But we do require at least one send a week which is really easy to do with all the games and question of the day, themes etc.  So without going on and on about this list, which I could,I'll ask youto please emailme or leave a comment if you'd like to join.  I'll make sure you get a disclaimer ASAP!!

This invitation is being extended to all of my friends here in J-Land and lurkers here in my journal too for a limited time!! Come join us!!  You won't regret it!!

Have some catching up to do...

I've been so busy I barely have time to sit.  My busyness starts at 6:40 am  when I take the girls to school and ends at 10 PM when I come home from my part time job.  Still watching the babies during the day.  I am trying to get a position at Publix.  I hate the fitting rooms at Ross. :O]

Check out all the cool Earth Day blinkies in my sidebar.  All made by talented friends of mine.  I have more but they won't fit in the sidebar.  Here's mine:

All snaggable!!

Speaking of Earth day, you know we do the Florida Coastal cleanup every year in April and there is also one in the fall and usually we go to a park and pick up trash but this year we helped paint a house for an elderly couple in wheelchairs.  We had a great time and we got cool t-shirts too.  Tomorrow, April 22 is Earth day and I am going to finally plant my pink lemon tree and my mango tree.  Will you do something for the Earth tomorrow?

The Disney field trips with the Art Club were soooooooo much fun!!!!  Those art students are just the coolest people in the world to hang with. I had a blast.  We went to Disney's MGM (now called Hollywood Studios) and Universal Studios Orlando.

I got a new car.  A Ford Escape.  I just love it.  It's red and so cute.  Soooo much better on gas too than the Expedition I had.  Like three times better.  My payments are about $100 more a month but I am saving almost $300 month in gas.  So the car accident ended up being a blessing in disguise.  Not only do I now have the car I wanted but I'm saving money at the same time. : )  Gotta love that!!

Have a wonderful day J-land.  Don't forget to do something for Earth Day.  Volunteer, plant something, clean up your yard, your windows(pollution), and don't forget to include the kids!!

I was tagged by Lori at  Dusty Pages.  Thanks alot Lor. lol

Here are the rules:

1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

QUESTIONS:

1) What was I doing 10 yrs ago?

Who is it???

Someone has been continuously harrassing people in AOL journals.  Who is doing this?  Some call them bitches, some call them trolls, some call them well, all kinds of names.  I have asked this before of you all and I never received an answer.  I have been around here for 5 friggin years, I have a right to know who it is that is harrassing my friends.

Listen, we all know right from wrong.  If you are the one being mean and hateful and disrespectful to others you are only doing it to yourself.  Because I truly and totally believe in an eye for an eye and what comes around goes around.  You BETTER believe it too.
I am sick to death of hearing about harrassment here in our circle of friends.  I'm fierce about my relationships.  Tell me who it is.  I demand to know.  I think alot of us want to know who it is.

This message will destruct as soon as I find out who it is.  I don't want my journal mucked up with this kind of mess for very long.
