Still smober
I've been through quite a bit of heartache in the last few months and if I was ever going to start smoking again, that would do it. But guess what? I stayed strong and I didn't smoke.
I have been quit for 7 Months, 3 Weeks, 1 Day, 15 hours, 34 minutes and 10 seconds (236 days). I have saved $887.42 by not smoking 4,732 cigarettes. I have saved 2 Weeks, 2 Days, 10 hours and 20 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 8:11 PM
When my brother passed away I didn't even think about it, I know some of you were wondering about that. And I don't dream about smoking anymore either. Yay!
Yesterday I went out to lunch with my best friend and we rode in her car. She was smoking of course, as usual, and I couldn't handle it. I had to put my window down and breathe fresh air. Plus it got my allergies going for some reason. My eyes started watering and my nose started itching. I don't remember ever being allergic to cigarette smoke? weird!
For all of you who have quit or are trying to quit, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! (Chris : )

the verdict is in....
and I'm a non-smoker. I don't even think about smoking anymore. Although once in a while, I feel like I should be doing something that I'm not. I'll actually get up and start walking (outside) and then I'll say to myself, "self, what are you doing?" So yeah, quitting smoking made me crazy. lol
Here's my stats:
I have been quit for 3 Months, 3 Weeks, 1 Day, 33 minutes and 49 seconds (114 days). I have saved $427.58 by not smoking 2,280 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Week and 22 hours of my life. My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 8:11 PM
WOW! 2,280 cigarettes!!!
And here's some juicy stuff for ya....
Tobacco Use in the USA
• High school students who are current (past month) smokers: 23.0% or 3.5+ million [Boys: 22.9% Girls: 23.0%]
• High school males who currently use smokeless tobacco: 13.6% [Girls: 2.2%]
• Kids (under 18) who try smoking for the first time each day: 4,000
• Kids (under 18) who become new regular, daily smokers each day: 1,000+
• Kids exposed to secondhand smoke at home: 15.5 million
• Workplaces that have smoke-free policies: 68.6%
• Packs of cigarettes consumed by kids each year: 800 million (roughly $2.0 billion per year in sales revenue)
• Adults in the USA who smoke: 20.9% or about 45 million [Men: 23.9% Women: 18.1%]
Deaths & Disease in the USA from Tobacco Use
• People who die each year from their own cigarette smoking: 400,000
• People who die each year from others' smoking (secondhand smoke & pregnancy smoking): 38,000 to 67,500
• Kids under 18 alive today who will ultimately die from smoking (unless smoking rates decline): 6,000,000+
• People in the USA who currently suffer from smoking-caused illness: 8.6 million
Smoking kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders, and suicides combined, with thousands
more dying from spit tobacco use. Of the roughly 416,000 kids who become new regular, daily smokers each year, almost a
third will ultimately die from it. In addition, smokers lose an average of 13 to 14 years of life because of their smoking.
A GREAT Big Shout out to some of my J-Land friends who are either quitting already or planning a quit date! You CAN do it!!!!!!! Be stronger than those cigarette companies. They will getcha hook, line, and sinker.

You don't need smoking cessation aids to quit!
Quit Smoking Methods
It is estimated that about 20% of adults smoke and out of that 20%, 70% want to quit smoking. There is a large market for quit smoking products, but what really works? What product will work for you? When looking at methods to quit smoking it is important to ask yourself the question, “Is it too good to be true?” If it is then it may be a scam. Use caution when looking at methods to quit smoking. I say it's all a bunch of bologne. You're not going to quit unless you want to and nothing will make you do it. You just have to stop. That's all there is to it.
I don't even think about that much anymore. Even when I smell it or see it. I'm still a smoker in my dreams though...isn't that odd?
HERE'S MY STATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been quit for 2 Months, 1 Week, 1 Day, 1 hour, 17 minutes and 5 seconds (67 days). I have saved $251.44 by not smoking 1,341 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Days, 15 hours and 45 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 8:11 PM

I guess my lungs are working double time to heal from the damage I have most definitely caused them. Your lungs do heal ya know? : ) That's a happy thought for the day.

Something strange is happening... (adult content)
In the last week, I have begun having very vivid dreams every night. Memorable dreams that I remember in detail upon awakening. I haven't had such dreams in over 5 years of smoking. That's wierd!
What Happens to Your body if you stop smoking Right now? By Wade Meredith From HealthBolt.net
I think one of the main reasons it’s so hard to quit smoking is
because all the benefits of quitting and all the dangers of continuing seem very far away. Well, here’s a little timeline about some of the more immediate effects of quitting smoking and how that will affect your body RIGHT NOW.
- In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.
- In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal
- In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.
- In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.
- In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.
- In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will dissipate as your lung capacity improvesby 10%.
- In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.
- In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
- In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
- In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
So, you have more immediate things to look forward to if you quit now besides just freaking out about not being able to smoke.
What Happens To Your Body If You Stop Smoking Right Now (ALTERNATE VERSION)
- In 20 minutes your nicotine levels have dropped enough that you begin to want a smoke...
- In 8 hours the craving is driving you nuts and smoking is the only thing you can think about...
- In 48 hours all nicotine has left your body and you start to shake...
- In 72 hours your tolerance for bullshit has dropped significantly and your co-workers have noticed a slight change in your personality...
- In 2 weeks your friends, family and coworkers now call you "Mr. A**hole" or "Miss Bitch" and are begging you to start smoking again...
- In three to nine months the trial will be over after you kill the last person who asks you "How goes the no smoking?"...
- In 1 year your jail-house 'protection' costs you 1 pack of cigarettes a day (how ironic)...
- In 5 years you are being sold in prison for 2 packs of cigarettes (again, how ironic), but your prison tattoos look fantastic...
- In 10 years you've now developed a jail-house heroin habit...
- In 15 years the justice system labels you as unredeemable and commutes your 25 year sentence to life. But on the bright side, you've kicked your heroin habit and to help with the withdrawal symptoms, you've started smoking again (how very ironic)...

Day 17

If you lay down all the smokers around the world, 3/4 of them would drown. Wow! I heard that on the radio today. Don't know if it's true, but if it is, that's amazing. That's a lot of smokers!
I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 2 Days, 20 hours, 49 minutes and 1 second (16 days). I have saved $63.24 by not smoking 337 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 4 hours and 5 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 8:11 PM
