Feeling Anxious

N.L. All-Star Balloting

First off I would like to apologize to the voters like me who actually look at how players are doing and vote for they're favorites who actually deserve to go...

NOW, LOOK WHAT YOU ALL HAVE DONE

1st Base Player Name Team Total Votes

"I should be #1!"

1. Pujols, A. Cardinals 748,844

2. Lee, D. Cubs 435,404

3. Mientkiewicz, D. Mets 230,181

4. Bagwell, J. Astros 158,899

5. Delgado, C. Marlins 138,557

Okay, let me get this straight, Derek could very easily win th N.L. triple crown and is having an unheard of year batting .380 in june and is still 313,440 votes behind the leader? Don't get me wrong, if I were building a franchise the first guy I would want is Pujols and I think when it's all said and done he's going to be the best player of all time but the way Lee is going he should be ahead 313,440 votes.

The next thing is that Doug Mientkiewicz is having the worst year of his career he's third in voting. The N.L. takes 3 firstbaseman so right now Doug Mientkiewicz is an all-star! Yes, I'm a big time Mets fans but a guy barely over the Mendoza line that is not making the defensive plays the Mets brought him there for (Chris Woodard is playing better defense at 1st base) should not be an all-star. I did vote for him...when he was doing really well. Right now he's a load of suck and he has no business on the all-star team.

Two other quick things Bagwell is having the worst year of his career and is done for the season and he's 4th! And Delgado probably should be 3rd and he's 5th. I don't care though because I hate him for what he did to the Mets in the offseason.

2nd Base Player Name Team Total Votes

"I AM #1"

1. Kent, J. Dodgers 506,272

2. Biggio, C. Astros 322,126

3. Grudzielanek, M. Cardinals 274,467

4. Giles, M. Braves 237,635

5. Walker, T. Cubs 190,031

Probably the only position right now in te N.L. that the voting is right

Shortstop Player Name Team Total Votes

"I hurt myself!"

1. Garciaparra, N. Cubs 312,892

2. Eckstein, D. Cardinals 295,955

3. Furcal, R. Braves 269,606

4. Izturis, C. Dodgers 260,683

5. Barmes, C. Rockies 257,818

What can I say besides NOMAR GARCIAPARRA? I mean c'mon now. He got hurt in April and is leading all N.L. shortstops in voting? That list is pretty much right when you take away Nomar. However you have to put Furcal (Why do the fans want to vote for a Brave who derserved it before now, when he doesn't?) below Izturis and and Barmes (Who is now out for 3 months) and it's pretty much right. But how uneducated do you have to be to vote for Nomar? A word of advice for all you who voted for Nomar: Don't vote again.

3rd Base Player Name Team Total Votes

"I'm the 'Wright' choice!"

1. Rolen, S. Cardinals 539,087

2. Jones, C. Braves 383,083

3. Glaus, T. Diamondbacks 306,062

4. Ramirez, A. Cubs 282,109

5.Wright, D.Mets 216,265

Another example of fans not knowing who's been injured. Rolens' been out for 3 weeks and will be out for two months and Chipper (another damn Brave) has not been playing that well and will also be out for a while. Call me bias for the Mets but David Wright (my favorite player) should be 1st in voting, he would be if he were a Yankee (and they didn't suck). Now all of you are probably like: "How? It's just 'cause you're a Mets fan". Let me explain. David Wright does not lead N.L. in any major category (EXCEPT STOLEN BASES). But he's near the top in all of them unlike like any other player above. He's second in batting average, second to only Edgardo Alfonzo who's not even close to being an all-star, so he's first out of the players in the top 5. He's 4th in homeruns, and 3rd in RBI's only to Joe Randa (who's not in even in the top10 but should get much more consideration) and Troy Glaus who is 2 spots ahead of Wright in voting but just short of 50 points behind him him batting average (48 points).

As for Aramis Ramirez, he should've been second behind Rolen last year, this year he should be 4th behing Ensberg. Overall Chipper and Rolen should not be there because they're hurt and are hurt for at least two months. And this should be the list:

1. David Wright 2. Troy Glaus 3. Morgan Ensberg 4. Aramis Ramirez 5. Joe Randa

Catcher Player Name Team Total Votes

"I'm a has-been!"

1. Piazza, M. Mets 579,502

2. Lo Duca, P. Marlins 378,213

3. Estrada, J. Braves 215,774

4. Molina, Y. Cardinals 208,480

5. Hernandez, R. Padres 195,088

As much as it hurts my heart to say another Met doesn't derserve to be an all-star... Another Met shouldn't be an all-star. Ramon Hernandez should be first in a land slide. Lo Duca should be second and Piazza should be third. The other two have no business even near that list.

Outfield Player Name Team Total Votes

"I'm overrated and overpaid!"

1. Beltran, C. Mets 672,050

2. Edmonds, J. Cardinals 546,739

3. Abreu, B. Phillies 376,338

4. Griffey Jr., K. Reds 360,947

5. Cabrera, M. Marlins 336,634

6. Walker, L. Cardinals 302,627

7. Jones, A. Braves 280,204

8. Floyd, C. Mets 274,495

9. Bradley, M. Dodgers 261,545

10. Burrell, P. Phillies 203,981

11. Drew, J. Dodgers 195,384

12. Patterson, C. Cubs 191,942

13. Sanders, R. Cardinals 183,288

14. Dunn, A. Reds 182,342

15. Bonds, B. Giants 170,748

I'm sorry Mets but Beltran should not be all-star. There is no such thing as a post-season all-star so Beltran shouldn't be there. Edmonds and Abreu should be there, but Griffey? He has only 10 homeruns and is not playing that usual stellar defense. Miguel Cabrera should probably be second but he should be starting in the outfield. This is all I have to say about this issue: "Larry Walker?, no business there" And where's the love for "The Don" Cliff Floyd. Right now he's two spots out of an all-star appearance. Let me tell you all. Floyd is hitting in the 280s. But not only that he's tied for but he's fourth in homeruns with 14. Only ones ahead of him is Derek Lee who leads the N.L. Carlos Lee, and Pujols. SO FLOYD IS SECOND IN THE N.L. FOR OUTFIELDERS WITH 14. And fifth for N.L. outfielders in RBI's. FLOYD SHOULD BE AN STARTING OUFIELDER but at the very least and all-star. Give some love to "The Don" and vote for him. And by the way for all you Barry Bonds voters: HE HASN'T PLAYED A GAME THIS YEAR!

The fans should continue to vote for all-stars but they should vote based on players current years (and actually know how well or not well the players are doing) not based on their whole career.

All I can say is that I'm glad we don't vote for pitching because Curt Schilling would be the starting pitcher for the A.L.!
