Odd News from Europe

“An Italian judge heard arguments Friday on whether a small-town parish priest should stand trial for asserting that Jesus Christ existed.” (Italy)

Isn’t it surprising that a continent that is taking pride in giving lessons of democracy to other countries is going after one of its citizens because of his beliefs?

It sounds like the persecutions of the Christians all over again!  A trial because a small-town parish asserts that Jesus existed?   If he believes it, why someone (or the prosecution office) should go after him?  Freedom of speech or freedom of thoughts,  isn’t it ?  The small-town parish priest is not in China, as I know of.

It’s time for countries of the western world to be less hypocritical!
