With kids, women, elderly people dying on both sides, seing all the misery on both sides, I wonder again how can our government tolerate such a situation. And we take pride in being "civilized", "generous", "magnanimous", "christian", "smart".
I'm getting to believe that all we say we are is all B...s! Because, if I were wrong, we all would be screaming to tell our so-called elected leaders: enough is enough, let's do something to stop this! After all, we don't want more hatred directed at us. The bad thing is we try a lot of times to be important instead of being useful!

The current U.S. policy in the Middle East is really getting outdated. And I would even say it stinks. That is why we are getting more isolated in this world. Call me a liberal if you want but I don't care because our kids, grandkids or great grandkids need to find a safe place to live.

Israel is our close allied, it is true. But that country has its own interests and the U.S. has its own. Therefore our fate can not be bound to the fate of Israel. It is time we tell Israel we cannot babysit her for ever.

We do not talk to Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah - big players in the Middle East - because we perceive them as our enemies. Maybe they are. I thought though it was always better to keep our enemies close (...so we could better strangle them when the need arises).

As the situation of the world getting more complicated, we the voters need to take a second look, a third look at our leaders before we elect them because we cannot afford to have people without vision, smartness and without global perspective lead the U.S..

Recently, CNN reported on one of those churches where the congregation laughs
its heart out while they are worshiping God.
The argument behind all this laughter is God does not ask us to be miserable
while we are serving Him.

And the preacher on that CNN show aslo argued
that being sad or depressed at church while we are praying is not what God
asked from us.

Another minister said in one of his preachings: Hippopotamus, peacock,
Dachshund, giraffe, hummingbird, dolphin, fireflies, and humans like us:
Herman, Thelma, Josephine, and Thomas: If you look around at all the
creatures of the world, and we humans in all our vibrant variety, don’t you
have to conclude that God has a great sense of humor? And he went on to quote some passages in the Bible where laughter is referred to.

In other words, those ministers were telling us that God likes laughter too.

Generally speaking, I wish we all were laughing at a lot things! Maybe we
would see less bad things across the world: maybe less wars, less
greediness, less selfishness, less crimes, less hatred...

Above all, the politicians would stop blowing things out of proportion,
because they' d know that we all would start laughing at them instead of
us getting scared and depressed whenever they open their big mouth about
this, about that, and about things that only exist in their minds...

I thought blogging was the domain of citizen journalists putting their personal thoughts on the net so they can report to the world what the main press is not telling !!!

Now there seems to be a new trend: the big press is infiltrating the domain of the bloggers, and there are big reporters of the big medias blogging also... Some even using aka names...

The other day, I was searching posts on a specific country, expecting to read what citizens of that country were writting on... I was amazed to see the search from Atom brought up several news agencies that have posted news on that country, before I could read posts from private "bloggers". And articles from those news agencies were ranking very high ahead of the sites of the real bloggers.

I think we bloggers should start raising our voices against this practice of blog search engines including news agencies and news reporters among the bloggers. News agencies are not bloggers; they are media people posing as bloggers.

Please you real bloggers out there tell me I am right, and that We bloggers should be really concerned. I hope the blog search engines will take note and are listening

I received this article, read it, and decided to share it with you because I believe it said a lot on how truth and happiness are thightly related. The truth will set us free, we hear a lot of times. I believe this article elaborates very much on this issue. Good reading!

ARTICLE START ------------------
By Robert E. Najemy

It is not easy to be totally truthful with others and often even with
ourselves.

The main reason for this is our fear or rejection. This fear is often
greater even than the fear of death.

We identify our self-worth and consequently our feelings of security
with how others perceive us and whether they approve of, accept and love
us or not.

Because of this we tend to alter our bodies and personalities in order
to "protect" our self-worth, security and freedom.

As children we were free to be ourselves and blurt out whatever might
be passing through our minds. But eventually our unpleasant experiences
with the truth caused us to create what we might call the shadow and
the mask. We seek to hide in the shadow whatever we cannot accept about
ourselves or fear that might make us vulnerable or not acceptable to
others.

We eventually became afraid to share or express our actions, fears,
anger, feelings, needs, beliefs and even our love, appreciation and
admiration.

Some of us try to become what we believe others want us to be in order
to gain their approval and love. This seldom works because others sense
the lack of truth in what we are seeking to be for them. As long as we
need approval, we are unlikely to get it. Or if we have it, we are
unlikely to see or feel it.

Others seek to protect their needs by playing unpleasant roles such as
the interrogator, the intimidator, the victim or the aloof. In such a
case, even though we do not seek to be what others want us to be, we are
equally not truthful because we are unable to express our happiness,
satisfaction, love or needs in a mature way. We are playing a role that
does not express our true needs and feelings.

Some people are proud of the fact that they can shout and freely
express their anger. What they do not realize that they too are not truthful,
because behind all anger is fear, hurt or guilt and they are not
expressing the truth behind their anger.

When we are not able to express our beliefs, needs, feelings, ideas,
love and appreciation freely, we are blocked energy-wise and are much
more susceptible to psychosomatic illness.

In addition to that, we do not have true relationships, because our
relationships are based on our masks and not on our true feelings, needs
and beliefs. We become starved energy-wise because we do not enjoy true
energy exchange with others.

Suppressing these aspects of ourselves and seeking to keep up our mask
is a very tiring process that depletes our energy and stamina, both on
a psychological and physical level - also undermining the ability of
our immune system to deal with microbes, cancerous cells and
inflammations.

We can gradually become free to be more truthful about our fears, need,
desires, feelings, beliefs, actions, love and admiration as we learn to
accept and love ourselves as we are and experience our self-worth
regardless of external factors, including how we appear to others and what
they think.

We need to realize that our self-worth is a function of our being with
is divine in nature and not on how we appear, how much money we have,
our profession, how we compare to others, what others think or how they
behave towards us.

Each of us is a ray of divine consciousness which is temporarily
focused in the material world evolving in its ability to express its inner
power, beauty, love and divine perfection in the physical realm. We and
all others are always worthy of love and respect - simply because of the
nature of our being and not because of our appearance or what others
think.

If our self-worth were related to what others think and ten people have
ten different opinions - depending on their own needs and programming -
then according to whose opinion is our value measured? The usual answer
is, "the worse opinion". We often fetter and worry about one person
that does not approve of us - ignoring that fact that the other nine love
and accept us.

In the end we will give importance to only one opinion - that our of
our inner conscience. We will respect others and their opinions, but
in the end our only prerequisite to happiness and peace will be in
alignment with our conscience. That means that we feel secure in the fact
that we are behaving towards others in the way we would like them to
behave to us. This is all we need in order to feel worthy and secure.

We can be truthful about ourselves only when we are free from fear,
guilt, shame and in general identification with our temporary body and
personality. Meditation and self-observation will enable us to become more
detached from the body and mind and observer their various functionings
and programmings as - not us. That detachment will enable our clarity
and ability to be more truthful about ourselves - perhaps with a sense
of humor about our personal dramas - as we take ourselves less
seriously.

As we discover exactly what we fear about being more honest about
ourselves with the important people in our lives, we can then employ various
methods of energy psychology such as EFT, TAT, BSSF, EMDR and Sedona in
order to free ourselves from those fears and emotional blockages.

As we learn to be more truthful, this will become even easier and we
will enjoy much greater energy, happiness, creativity and love in our
lives.

May you be well on all levels of your being.

Robert E. Najemy, author of 25 books and life coach with 30 years of
experience, has trained over 300 life coaches and now does so over the
Internet.
Over 600 free articles, lectures, relaxation and positive projection as
mp3 audio. Become a life coach.
At http://www.HolisticHarmony.com/

On the eve of the deadline given to Iran to stop its nuclear program, the existing nuclear countries have no moral authority to tell another country not to seek those weapons of mass destruction, because they make no big effort to rid themselves of those weapons.

That is why Iran believes it is being bullied by those countries. A bully by definition is someone (or a country) who enjoys oppressing, intimidating others weaker than himself.

The world will be serious about nuclear disarmement if the countries that already have nuclear weapons make significant efforts to destroy them.

And do not tell me we are more responsible and we would know when and how to use them... History is there to remind us till the present time that we may not be so responsible as we think we are...

The Iraq war is now going on its 4th year! Many of our young fellow citizens are either dead or wounded. A lot more on the Iraqi side! We have spent since the war started close to $400 billion and counting.

I wonder how much more we Americans are willing to spend for this "Noble Cause". I need to know, and a lot out there need to know too.
