Autism assistance dogs are being used to help children with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Although the cost is expensive ($13,000), the benefits are priceless.
That's the case for Matthew and his autism assistance dog, Ajax. At the age of three, Matthew was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Ajax nuzzles Matthew if he gets anxious and keeps him from wandering off. As a result, Matthew's meltdowns have become less frequent.
